Workshops this weekend:



Wearable/Portable Architecture
A WORKSHOP BY MARY MATTINGLY

1-5pm, Saturday, October 13 and Sunday, October 14, 2012

How can we respond to the current disasters of our environment and inquire if portable architecture/design can be applicable within our urban landscape?

We've had significant and surprising response from a diverse range of groups that has been participating since last week! 

Paulo Alacazren (Of BluPrint Magazine), environmentalist and UP Mountaineer Ross Arayata, NDRRMC (Workshop 1), Best teacher awardee (for Quezon City) from QC High School Rose Perez joined in, artists Marc Gaba, Mica Cabildo, Marika Constantino, Shireen Seno and Christina Quisumbing Ramilo are involved, as well as Architecture students from UP and UST, Fine arts students, Art Teachers, and High School students from QC High School, Infanta Quezon (Province) National High School and Philippine Science High School - participating and building a design for (Workshop 2).

The third phase will happen on Saturday, October 13 (Building from 1pm-5pm at green papaya).  And an intervention on Sunday, October 14 wherein the participants will link all 20 individual portable design creating one sphere (which can be attached to small solar panels) so that it can be a charging source.  This sphere will be parked at QC High School in Scout Ybardolaza rolling its way from 1pm -3pm on Sunday. It will stay at QC High School until 12 noon of Monday, October 15.

Attendance to the workshops is limited to official participants. Observers are welcome on a pre-arranged basis.

An exhibition/reception on October 24, Wednesday 6pm will be free and open to the public presenting the documentation and process of the workshops and interventions.
